Do you love NERF guns but feel that you need even more power? The NERF Rival range is here to help. Suitable for fans fourteen years and up, the guns in the Rival range are high performance blasters which are designed for competitive “Red vs. Blue” team play.
All Rival blasters are built for speed and power, boasting the fastest fire rates across all ranges, these blasters are not to be messed with. It is worth noting that the Rival blasters don’t use traditional NERF darts, instead Hasbro has created specially designed “high-impact rounds” which are spherical. If you want to take your battles to the next level then the Rival range is definitely worth a look.
Please remember, safety first. Because of the increased fire power of the Rival range we strongly recommend that you get a protective face mask, you can find the official Rival mask here on Amazon.
NERF Rival Nemesis MXVII-10K
Features
Full Automatic
Motorized blaster
Easy to load
Hopper fed blaster
Holds up to 100 high impact rounds
Trigger lock
We can only think that the guys down at the NERF RIval R&D department either have a lot of time on their hands or they simply wanted to create the most monstrous blaster imaginable – NERF fans meet the Rival Nemesis MXVII-10k.
Unlike many blaster in the NERF universe the Nemesis is a fully automatic behemoth. You don’t have to worry about holding down any pesky accelerator buttons to get the Nemesis up to speed, simply hold down the trigger and watch (in awe) as you start unloading round-after-round upon your cowering enemies. Not only does the Nemesis boast an impressive fire rate and full automation it also brings hopper fed blasting to the table. Rather than have to rely on clips which can be cumbersome to load and reload, the Nemesis makes use of a huge hopper which can hold up to 100 high impact rounds!
Now the Nemesis is a little more pricey than your standard Rival NERF gun but if you are serious about your blasting and want to completely dominate the field then look no further – this truly is the most powerful blaster on the market today. We would say that “with great power comes great responsibility” but we know you are just going to blast your competition away with no remorse….
The NERF Rival Nemesis MXVII-10K comes with 100 high impact rounds but you will need to pick up 6 D batteries if you want to get the blaster going.
NERF Rival Charger MXX-1200
Features
Semi-automatic
Motorized blaster
Includes 24 High Impact rounds
12 round magazine
Tactical rail
Trigger lock
Requires 6 “C” batteries
Ok, so we might be showing our age here but the NERF Rival Charger conjures memories of the infamous SBP90 machine guns in TimeSplitters – the resemblance is uncanny! The similarities don’t just stop with look either, the Charger is a compact semi-automatic blasting meany! Whoever cooked this motorized NERF gun up must be a fan of the classic from Free Radical.
The Charger is a neat little blaster which packs a mean punch. There aren’t two many moving parts here so if you are looking for a quick and easy semi-automatic Rival gun this isn’t a bad place to start. Though smaller (and with less capacity) than the Nemesis and not a full auto like the Perses, the Charger’s price point and compact design mean it is a no brainer for anyone looking to jump in with the Rival range.
Doing away with magazines, clips or hoppers – the Charger makes use of an integrated 12 round magazine which is loaded at the top of the blaster. Hasbro have thrown in 12 additional High Impact rounds so you even have spare for an extra reload before you need to high-tail it back to your ammo dump. You don’t need to worry about rapid movement either as there is a magazine guard which slips over the loading slot to stop any wayward rounds escaping.
As a semi-automatic blaster, you will need to hold down the acceleration button (located under the trigger) and squeeze off each shot to fire but thanks to the 100 FPS fire rate, your enemies won’t know what hit them!
We really like the NERF Rival Charger. It’s simple, compact and reminds us of fond memories of dual wielding SBP90’s in TS2 (which is very doable if you fancied picking up two Chargers). If you fancy getting the Charger into your arsenal be sure to pick up 6 “C” batteries as they don’t come in the box.
NERF Rival Roundhouse XX-1500
Features
Manual blaster
Includes 15 NERF high impact rounds
15 round, integrated magazines
Trigger lock
The NERF Rival Roundhouse is a compact blasting machine. The Roundhouse is a manual blaster with 5 integrated magazines which automatically rotate when primed, you can load up to 3 high-impact rounds per magazine which gives you a total capacity of 15 shots before you need to reload.
Thanks to transparent magazine chambers you can easily keep an eye on how many shots you have left before the invertible horror of having to reload. Reloading is a breeze, simply push forward the magazine guard, pop in your refills and you’ll be back to blasting in no time. Featuring two tactical rails (located on top, front and back) you can even add on your own attachments to up your game.
We are a fan of the Rival Roundhouse, it’s not the most impressive Rival but it’s an excellent entry level blaster for anyone looking to get started with the Rival series.
NERF Rival Curve Shot Sideswipe XXI-1200
Features
Curve your shots!
Manual blaster
Ambidextrous Bolt-action
Includes 12 High Impact rounds
Trigger lock
Just when you thought you were safe – Hasbro has removed your ability to hide! The NERF Rival Curve Shot Sideswipe is one of the first blasters available in the Rival Curve Shot subseries, featuring the ability to curve your shots(!) – left, right and even down. NERF battles will never be the same again now that cover is meaningless.
There is quite a lot to break down with the Sideswipe. First off, we love the design – it reminds us a lot of Tracer’s blasters in Overwatch and the integrated 12 round magazine is actually built into the handle of the gun. To load the magazine, you will need to pop in each round via the feeding slot, located on the side. Once you are ready to get blasting you’ll need to pull back the bolt-action priming mechanism before you can pop off a shot. A very nice touch on the Sideswipe is that the bolt-action pin can actually be mounted on either side of the gun – making it perfect for left or right hand blaster enthusiasts alike!
Let’s not forget, we haven’t even touched on the most incredible aspect of the Sideswipe – the fact that you can curve your shots! Though it may sound like some futuristic dream, curving your shots with the Sideswipe is incredibly easy – simply rotate the muzzle (left, right or down) to add your desired curve to your round. Got a pesky enemy cowering behind a tree? They won’t know what hit them when you miraculously curve your bullet to hit them square on the head. No-one is safe when you have a Curve Shot Rival in your hands (Mwahahaha).
NERF Rival Hypnos XIX-1200
Features
Manual blaster
Pump action
Folding stock for 2 configurations
Comes with two 12 round magazines
2 tactical rails (top and side)
Includes magazine clip (use with tactical rail system)
Trigger lock
Includes 24 high-impact rounds
Well, Hasbro weren’t messing around when they conceived the NERF Rival Perses. Much like its Greek god namesake, this blaster is all about destruction! Touted as the fastest NERF Rival system ever made, the Perses may not be cheap but if you are serious about your competitive play it is a must have.
The Perses isn’t a blaster made for players who are looking for elegance or tactical play – this is a blaster built to overwhelm your opponents through sheer NERF force. Instead of using round magazine the Perses keeps things simple with an easy to load 50 round hopper, simply pop open the window located on the top of the blaster and pour your rounds in!
As you can imagine, this much firepower (8 rounds per second!) requires a lot of juice and to help with the load the Perses features are rechargeable battery pack which slots into the front handle of the gun – no more expensive battery replacements needed here.
The Rival Perses may be down and dirty but that won’t matter when you stand on the blasting field victorious – again and again and again…
NERF Rival Perses MXIX-5000
Features
Fully Automatic
Fastest NERF Rival blaster – 8 rounds per second
Motorized blaster
50 round capacity
Quick load hopper
Includes 50 high-impact rounds
Trigger lock
Rechargeable battery (included)
The Hypnos XIX-1200 is an unexpected delight, clever-engineering and generous extras make this one of the best Rival blasters on the market.
Using a pump-action priming mechanism located at the front-bottom of the blaster, the Hypnos may not be as fast as some of the automatic blasters in the Rival range but don’t let that put you off too much. We like to think of the Hypnos as tactical blaster – featuring a folding stock which can be swung in and out of position with the press of a button the versatility of this blaster is fantastic. Want some added stabilization for those long-range shots? Stock on. Want a fast moving game where you are constantly popping off shots in tight spaces? Stock off.
Hasbro have been pretty generous with the Hynos – including two tactical rails (located on the top and side of the blaster), an extra 12 round magazine for easy reloading and two magazine clips which can be mounted on the tactical rails – meaning you will never be caught short without any rounds.
The Hypnos’ stock versatility makes it one of our favourites, it may not boast the highest fire rates or largest round capacity but it is flexible, allowing you to change up your play style at a moment’s notice.
NERF Rival Finisher XX-700
Features
Manual blaster
Slide-action
Includes 7 High Impact rounds
7 round, detachable magazine
Tactical rail
Trigger lock
The NERF Rival Finisher is a simple Rival gun which features a “quick-load” magazine. Fill up the included 7 round detachable magazine, slot it into the bottom of the blaster and away you go!
In our opinion, the Finisher is a great entry-level blaster for anyone who wants to check out the Rival range (and their exceptional fire rates) without having to break the bank. Of course, as a cheaper, manual, blaster you won’t be getting too many bells and whistles attached. The Finisher makes use of a slide-back mechanism located on top of the blaster which will need priming before each shot. In case you find yourself in the middle of a particularly intense firefight, you can also reload the 7 round magazine by sliding down the side guard and loading up – you’ll never have to miss a second of blasting (if you have enough ammo on you, of course).
The Finisher isn’t as shiny or exciting as the other blasters in the Rival range but that doesn’t make it a bad blaster. If you are after something cheap and cheerful, or just don’t want to break the bank, the Finisher is definitely worth a look.
NERF Rival Zeus MXV-1200
Features
Motorized blaster
Includes Flip-up sights, trigger lock and jam clearing door
Easy-load, ambidextrous, 12 round magazine
2 tactical rails
Trigger lock
Includes 12 high-impact rounds
The NERF Rival Zeus MXV-1200 is an easy to use motorized blaster which features a 12 round, ambidextrous, magazine for stress free reloading (an essential for when you are in the thick of an intense NERF battle). If you are looking for an simple motorized blaster then we would recommend taking the Zeus into serious consideration.
In terms of usage, the Zeus has been designed for both left and right handed fans. Simply flip down the clip lock on whichever side you prefer and start loading up your high impact rounds. Once you are fully loaded, press down the accelerator button located below the trigger and you can start unleashing rounds at an alarming rate! The one limitation of the Zeus is that the clip is small relative to other blasters available Rival range making it a slightly more limited NERF gun for those of you who really like to let the rounds fly.
The Rival Zeus MXV-1200 includes 12 high impact rival rounds and an ambidextrous clip but note that the blaster doesn’t include any batteries so you will need to pick up 6 C batteries in order to get the motors running.
NERF Rival Artemis XVII-3000
Features
Manual blaster
Slam-fire action
Rotating barrel
Trigger lock
30 round integrated magazine
The Rival Artemis XVII-3000 is the perfect entry level blaster for anyone new to the Rival range. This slam action barrel blaster makes use of 3 spring loaded, integrated clips, which feed a rotating barrel. To get shooting, slide back the clip cover, load up your high impact rounds, slide the cover back, turn off the safety (located on the side of the blaster) and start blasting your enemies!
The Rival Artemis XVII-3000 has an impressive 100ft range and fires high impact rounds at 100fps. People are definitely going to know when their hit and thanks to the incredible accuracy you will be picking off enemies in no time. The NERF Rival Artemis XVII-3000 comes with 30 high impact round and doesn’t require any batteries. Once you’ve got the Artemis out of the box, suit up and get on the blasting field.
NERF Rival Takedown XX-800
Features
Manual blaster
Includes 8 NERF High Impact rounds
Breech-loaded
The Rival Takedown is a down and dirty one shot beauty – with inbuilt 8 round capacity, breech loading and pump action priming mechanism the relatively low asking price, the Takedown is one of our favourite Rival blasters to date.
As a breech loaded blaster, the Takedown is exceptionally easy to reload and doesn’t require any fiddling drum changes or break chambers – even as you sprint around the field you can pop more rounds into the breech and be good to go for another shot. Though this is a single shot blaster, the pump action priming means you can get shots off in rapid succession and it is light enough to be fired from one hand (duel wielding anyone?!).
Like all Rival blasters, the Takedown includes a trigger for added safety. We absolutely love the simplicity of this blaster – a must have.
NERF Rival Apollo XV-700
Features
Manual blaster
Spring-action blaster
Easy-load, ambidextrous, 7 round magazine
Trigger lock
The Rival Apollo XV-700 is a super easy, spring-action blaster which makes use of a 7 round magazine (loaded at the bottom of the blaster). When it comes to performance the Apollo may not pack the same punch as other blasters in the range but is fantastic if you are looking for something on a budget.
Once you have loaded up the included 7 round clip, pull back the spring action cocking mechanism located on the top of the blaster and you can start your blasting! There isn’t much to the Apollo XV-700, it really as simple as that!
The Apollo comes with a 7 round clip and 7 high impact Rival rounds and is completely manual so no need for batteries! Happy blasting.
NERF Rival Phantom Corps Hades XVIII-6000
Features
Manual blaster
Side-mounted priming mechanism
Includes 60 NERF High Impact rounds
2 Rival flags
Trigger lock
We won’t begrudge the Rival Phantom Corps Hades XVII-6000 for having such a needlessly spooky name and that is only because of it’s ridiculous round capacity. Holding up to 60 High Impact rounds at a time you’ll be a walking ammo dump if you bring this on the field.
The Hades is easy to load, simply remove the magazine cover located at the front of the blaster and fill up the 3 separate magazines. The blaster is primed using the handle at the front and then all that is left is pulling the trigger and blasting away your enemies.
As a Phantom Corps blaster, the Hades also comes with 2 flags (read and blue) which you can attach to the back of the blaster – this means you can play on either side without having to worry about what color your blaster is. Or you could just start shooting at everyone but we’re not sure how long you will last…
NERF Rival Atlas XVI-1200
Features
Manual blaster
Fires 2 rounds at once
Pump action cocking mechanism
Includes 12 round magazine
Trigger lock
The Rival Atlas XVI-1200 may look like your standard Rival blaster but it has a sneaky trick up its sleeve. Unlike other blasters the range, the Atlas fires two high impact rounds at once! Surprise your enemies by sending two rounds their way instead of one!
The Rival Atlas makes use of 12 round magazine located at the back of the gun and requires a quick pump in order to prime. Once you are primed and ready then start sending two round against your enemies, even though you are firing two rounds at once the Atlas doesn’t let you down in performance, so get ready so see your opponents cower in fear!
Including a 12 dart magazine and 24 high impact NERF Rival rounds the Atlas XVI-1200 may not have the highest capacity but you will have spare rounds for when you run out!
NERF Rival Knockout XX-100
Features
Manual blaster
Includes 2 NERF High Impact rounds
Pocket blaster
2 round storage
Trigger lock
A pocket Rival blaster?! Say not more, we’re in. Jokes aside the Rival Knockout certainly shouldn’t be your primary Rival blaster but if you are looking for a ace up your sleeve then this is a no-brainer.
The Knockout comes with two High Impact rounds and storage for 2 more, we don’t expect you will ever need more than one shot (delivering a coup-de-grace maybe?) so what the Knockout lacks in firepower it certainly makes up for in convenience. This pocket blaster is breech loaded with a priming mechanism located at the bottom (pull it down and you are good to go).
If you are looking for a little extra ooomf without breaking the bank definitely consider picking up this little gem.
NERF Rival Curve Shot Flex XXI-100
Features
Curve your shots!
Single shot
Pull down priming mechanism
Includes 5 High Impact rounds
Never being satisfied with doing things by half, Hasbro have released another Curve Shot blaster. The NERF Rival Curve Shot Flex is a single-shot, manual blaster which includes 5 slots of high impact round reloads in the handle.
We aren’t quite sure when you would go for the Flex over the superior Sideswipe but if you are after an additional Curve Shot blaster then who are we to stop you? Rather than having an integrated magazine, the Flex requires a reload after each shot – there is an open breach on top of the barrel where you can pop in a new round after each shot. Priming is simple, like a lot of pocket blasters, the Flex features a pull down priming mechanism (with nice oversize handles) located at the bottom of the blaster; simply pulldown and pull the trigger.
The Curve Shot mechanism is identical to the Sideswipe, rotate the muzzle left, right on downwards to give your shot the curve of your choice. It’s a cool looking NERF gun but when compared to the Sideswipe there isn’t a lot going for the Flex – fun and easy to use but really, just go for the Sideswipe if you want to have some curving fun!
